Wynn Las Vegas

A bronze curved tower, flower-filled walkways and a golf course in the middle of the desert. Wynn is the place to go when you want Vegas with the volume turned down.

What the floor tells us

Wynn Las Vegas opened in 2005 on the site of the old Desert Inn, and its curved bronze tower is still one of the most recognisable shapes on the north end of the Strip. Its sister property, Encore, sits right next door and shares much of the same polish.

The style here is soft and floral rather than loud: natural light, mosaic floors and huge seasonal flower installations in the walkways. Rooms are generous, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame either the Strip or the golf course.

The casino is elegant and well spaced, with a respected poker room and private salons for higher limits. Service is the property’s real calling card, and it shows from check-in to the table games.

Spend some of your stay at the spa, book at least one dinner in the resort’s restaurant collection, and walk the Lake of Dreams at night, when the light and music shows play across the water.

Bellagio

The lake, the fountains and the glass-flower ceiling are famous for good reason. Behind them is a calm, well-run hotel with one of the Strip’s classiest gaming floors.
